     Pseudoachondroplasia is a rare genetic disorder that affects one in 30,000 people. It is a type of dwarfism that affects your joints and cartilage growth. People with pseudoachondroplasia have short arms and limbs that are often hyper-extendable. Infants do not show signs of pseudoachondroplasia. It develops around ages two or three when a child’s body fails to grow normally. Although their growth is stunted, people with this disorder have full intelligence and brain capacity.

  The following video is of Leon Paredes, a twelve year old student with this disorder. The video includes photos of him during all phases of his limb lengthening surgery and recovery, as well as videos of him learning to walk.
